Great, deep and broad analysis. Thank you. All this details the wide ramifications of what Johnson is doing. My wonder is do you really think this nerd is smart enough to think it that far or does he just blindly, fearful of the consequences to himself and perhaps the party, do what his Big Boss tells him to? My feeling is the latter. He just doesn’t have the intellectual depth for such complex analysis and planning. The broader effects might escape him.

Thank you for your summary of pathetic partisanship in broad daylight. District fixing and gerrymandering being passed off as procedural. If this is the way a partisan Congress handles blocking release of the Epstein Files, I shudder at how midterm elections will be rigged.

There is no constitutional requirement that new members of Congress by sworn in by the leader of each chamber; this a tradition and may not even be a rule of the House or Senate. Any federal Judge could swear Grijahra. She should present herself in a Federal Court and ask to be sworn in.

Powerful, especially with the example of elected Rep Adelita Grijahra. I always appreciate use of Haitian scholar Michel-Rolph Trouillot. Thank you.

Denial of cheating and elected Congressional Representatuve seems to be against all laws. Denial of voters rights. Is it being brought to the Courts? One Person, one party should not be allowed to veto the voices if the voters.

If this is not true then one person could be able to not seat a President orcanyone voted into office.

Seating not cheating. So Very Sorry for all my word errors. It is obvious I do not always proofread my phone comments.

Isn’t there another way for her to be confirmed?

Unfortunately the constitution gives this power to the Speaker or designated representative.

Thank you for replying. It’s frustrating. I am 85 and a former ESL, bilingual elementary school teacher. I delighted in teaching my students as much about our nation as I could through songs, stories, field trips, art math, as well as moving them along in their own Spanish language. What a horror has descended upon us. I cannot get out to march but I pass as much info as I can. Yours is clear and concise.
